Hydraulic pumps generate pressures of up to 650 bar, which supply the various motors in a shovel excavator or combine harvester with hydraulic fluids via distributors, for example.
The trend towards greater energy efficiency is leading to the use of increasingly low-viscosity hydraulic fluids, which are also used to lubricate the roller bearings. The resulting risk of wear is countered by roller bearing steels with special heat treatment or suitable coatings.
